pipeline
to lawyers program
At Umoja Debate League, one of our core values is to create a pipeline for our students to pursue careers in law. We recognize that debate provides an excellent foundation for many transferable skills, including critical thinking, public speaking, and advocacy—skills essential for success in the legal field. To further nurture this pathway, we are launching the Pipeline to Lawyers Initiative, designed to provide our student debate participants with mentorship, shadowing opportunities, and early exposure to the legal profession.
Purpose
To provide students with a clear understanding of the legal field, help them envision themselves as future attorneys, and equip them with real-world experiences that will strengthen their
commitment to pursuing a career in law.
